Colt Anthony

Well, I've been on "maternity leave" now for a few months. Although, technically, I never stopped working! I shot LaCretia & Chris' wedding 4 days before my c-section and I'm still working on filling their package!

I delivered my baby boy on June 24th by c-section at 1:39 in the afternoon! He's so awesome! I can't believe he's already 7 weeks old! It's a little different with a boy, much easier, he's so laid back. And the 2nd c-section wasn't as bad as the 1st either! I'm posting a few of his adorable pics finally!

Back to work......

I am ready to start scheduling weddings full-time again! And this year I will be doing LOTS of seniors again, I learned I really like shooting you guys even though weddings are my main focus! However, I decided to only schedule seniors from September-March in order to have plenty of time to fill all packages and have prints delivered BEFORE the end of May. So, if you're interested in me shooting your senior portraits, get those scheduled SOON, there will be very limited availability as I will be taking on a lot of weddings starting next month.

LaCretia & Chris Engagement Sneak Peek!

LaCretia has been a friend of mine since childhood and is as sweet as she is beautiful! She has found a great guy in Chris, who is instantly like-able! We had a blast shooting their engagement pictures yesterday even though it was a little chilly...here are a few shots I've finished to hold everyone over until I get everything posted!

Maria & Marco's wedding!!

I covered Maria (or Suzy) and Marco's wedding on September 27th and it was one of my favorite weddings to date. (I know, I say that alot, but I truly love weddings!!!)

Everything was gorgeous and well planned out, even though Hurricane Ike threw a few kinks in the plans. Suzy handled everything so calmly, I think I was more stressed about the big day than she was!! I sent her text messages from Dallas non-stop while all the "evacuation shenanigans" were going on! Wondering what in the world she was going to do if the power wasn't back on in Port Arthur or if the church suffered significant damage.

Everything worked out though! They simply moved the reception location and kept on trucking through to the 27th. It couldn't have been any more gorgeous!

Suzy and Marco are two amazing people who love each other so much and I was blessed to be a part of their special day!

Look for some of my favorite shots from their wedding coming soon!

Gracie 4.5

Well, my little girl is four-and-a-half years old now. It seems like she was just born yesterday, well, with the exception of her intellect it seems that way. She is beautiful, smart, and freaking hilarious!

This shoot was all her. She had watched me do a family shoot in our pasture the day before, right after hay had been baled, and wanted me to shoot her out there as well. She picked the dress, said she wanted her hair down, and the rest is history. We rode our four-wheeler out back and brought along a chair I found on the roadside (I do that a lot...old stuff rocks!).

G danced and skipped around a bale of hay then posed on and around the chair, gave me her "blue steel" look, then shoved her open hand at my camera and screamed, "no more pictures"! She jumped back on the four wheeler and said, "let's go, we're done"!

So, that's that. She's definitely my child! Here are my favorite shots from our "big" shoot....it lasted all of 10 minutes!

Trash Bash Canceled....

Well, we didn't get the response we were hoping for on the Trash Bash, so we decided to cancel it. Sometimes you gotta know when to cut your losses! I think it's just gonna take more time for this to catch on around here. And like I've said a million times, to me, "trashing the dress" is NOT about staining, ripping, or otherwise ruining a perfectly good wedding gown, a family heirloom. Not by any means. Of course, if someone wants to do this, I'm game to catch it! However, I'm much more interested in the trendy, fashion mag-style shots I've mostly done in these shoots to date.

So.....once again, anyone already married interested in getting amazing portraits in their weddings gown, hit me up, please! I'm totally obsessed w/ bridal portraits, love taking them, especially out-of-context shots.

But, for now, no Trash Bash, maybe another time!

My Trash the Dress Shoot

I have become obsessed with the Trash the Dress craze. If you haven't yet heard about it, check out http://www.trashthedress.com/ to see some amazing photos. To see the shoots I've done visit my main website at http://www.alpweddings.com/.

Yes, I too trashed MY wedding dress! No need in being a hippocrit asking brides to do the unspeakable in their wedding gowns and not do it in mine. I shot with the amazing Jennifer Davis from Conroe, Texas (www.photographybyjen.biz).

The way I see it, the idea isn't really to "trash" your wedding dress. It's just a great opportunity to get some amazingly creative portraits of yourself in the most revered piece of one-time wear attire there is......THE WEDDING GOWN. For these shoots, there are no time tables, no anxiety about getting the dress dirty, just the chance to wear it again and feel free in it. A chance to be yourself, not a stiff, posed, nervous, bride-to-be. Having shot TTD sessions and been shot in one is a great blessing, I think. I know what it feels like both to be behind the camera and in front of it. It's a blast from both perspectives!! Oh! And my dress is as white as it was the day I got married for those of you mortified by the idea of getting your dress wet and/or dirty!

If you're interested in a TTD shoot or just want more info from me about it, contact me and we'll discuss ideas and possible locations for your shoot!

Here are some of my favorite shots I've gotten back so far. I'll post more when I have them!
